A New PDF Template Type That Makes Calibration Reviews Easier to Run

Flo moves fast, and one of the clearest signs of that is how quickly a specific client conversation turns into something live in the product. This update to Flo Performance Management is a good example: a real workflow problem, a concrete solution, and a short runway between the two.

The challenge

We heard that that clients wanted more PDF export options to make calibration sessions more efficient. To avoid reviewer scores spread across separate documents and committee members flipping pages to compare how different reviewers rated the same attorney, PDFs are streamlined and reformatted for easier viewing.

What we launched

Admins can now select a new template type in Performance Management that consolidates all of a reviewee's rating scores, including single-select and multi-select questions, into a single grid. Reviewer scores appear side by side, so committees can scan across evaluators at a glance rather than hunting through pages.

The layout follows a consistent structure for each form included in the template:

  1. The ratings grid
  2. Any additional comments tied to the selected questions, appearing directly below the grid
  3. Any selected text questions, in a final sectionPDF-template-grid

That ordering repeats for each form selected, keeping the export organized and predictable no matter how many forms are included.

Why it matters

Calibration committees move faster when the data is already organized the way the conversation is structured. Instead of asking "how did each reviewer rate this attorney on leadership?" and then paging through sequential responses, the committee can look at the grid and have that answer immediately.

For Professional Development and HR teams running year-end or mid-year reviews across a large associate or partner class, this kind of layout change has a real effect on how smoothly calibration sessions run. Less time orienting to the document means more time on the actual discussion.

This template type is live now, and we are continuing to build on it. If you have thoughts on how the grid layout could work even better for your calibration process, we want to hear them. This gets better with your input.
