# Flo AI Can Now Answer Questions About Your Historical Candidate Data

Flo moves quickly, and one of the ways that shows up is in how consistently Flo AI keeps getting more capable. The latest expansion is a meaningful one: Flo AI can now work across your historical candidate data, not just your active records.
## **The challenge**
Recruiting teams at law firms keep years of candidate history, but that data has traditionally lived separately from the tools used to make day-to-day decisions. Pulling insights across historical records often meant manual exports, spreadsheet work, or simply going without.
The goal was straightforward: give teams a way to make better use of the data they already have.
## **What we launched**
Admins can now ask Flo AI questions about historical candidate data the same way they already query active records. The two data sets can also be used together, allowing you to ask questions that span both.
Some examples of what you can ask:
- Which candidates appear in both my active candidate list and my historical data, matched by email address?
- Have any candidates in my historical records applied to a job currently open in the applicant tracking system?
- Which candidates in the historical table have a feedback response to a specific practice group fit question? Include their most recent application and its status.
- Looking at notes in the historical data, which candidates hold a dual degree? Include the relevant note in the results.
These are just a few examples. Admins can ask a wide range of questions in plain language and get structured, readable results back.
## **Why it matters**
Historical candidate data is one of the most underused resources a recruiting team has. Firms invest significant time building that record, but extracting useful insights from it has traditionally required manual work.
With Flo AI now covering historical records, teams can more easily surface candidates who have already expressed interest in the firm, identify overlaps with current openings, and bring context from past evaluations into current decisions.
For lateral recruiting in particular, where relationship history and prior touchpoints matter, this kind of cross-referencing has real practical value. A candidate who applied two years ago, received strong feedback, but was not the right fit at the time may be exactly the kind of person worth revisiting when circumstances change.
