# Tone Assist Now Flags Evaluations for Admins Automatically

Flo moves quickly, and one of the things that drives that pace is a commitment to closing the gaps that matter most to the people who run review cycles every day. When Tone Assist launched in July, it was a real step forward for reviewers writing evaluations. This update takes it further, putting that same intelligence in the hands of the admins who are responsible for what gets released.
## **The challenge**
When Tone Assist launched, anyone completing a form could access it, but only if they chose to open it. That left admins with no practical way to know whether a submitted evaluation contained flagged language. The only option was to open every form individually in edit mode and read through it. And if a reviewer never opened Tone Assist at all while writing, nothing was checked.
## **What we launched**
Tone Assist now runs automatically in the background every time an evaluation is submitted, regardless of whether the reviewer opened it while writing. Admins can see the results from inside the review cycle, without opening every form.
In the Reviewers or Reviewees table, any form with flags shows a "# Flags Detected" label in the user slideout. From there, admins can open the submitted form in View Review mode. Flagged phrases are underlined directly on the form. Hovering over a phrase shows the flag category, the phrase itself, and a suggested reword or recommendation, all on the same page. Clicking a flagged phrase opens the form in edit mode with the Tone Assist panel focused on that question, so an admin can address it without losing their place.

A few details worth knowing:
- Flags are visible only to admins and the reviewer who wrote the evaluation. Reviewees never see them.
- Flags are informational only. They never prevent a reviewer from submitting.
- If a background check takes a moment to complete, the flag count may appear shortly after submission rather than immediately.
- When an admin clicks into a flag and edits the form, those changes are saved to the reviewer's evaluation, consistent with how editing on behalf of a reviewer works elsewhere.
## **Why it matters**
Review cycles carry real stakes. Comments that touch on a protected characteristic, rely on coded language, or offer vague feedback with no concrete example can create problems for the attorney being reviewed and for the firm. Admins are responsible for what goes out, and until now they had no scalable way to catch those issues before release.
With automatic checking on every submission, admins can now go into the release step with a clear picture of where to focus their attention. The flag count in the slideout means no form gets overlooked, and the inline view means reviewing flagged language takes seconds rather than a manual read of every response.
This is one of the more consequential updates Flo Performance Management has seen since Tone Assist launched, and it came directly out of understanding how admins actually manage review cycles. If there are other points in the workflow where visibility would help, we want to hear about them.
