Custom Fields Now Across the Platform: Imports, Columns, Filters, and Exports

Flo Performance Management gets more useful with every release, and this update reflects something we've heard consistently from Professional Development and HR teams: custom fields are only as valuable as the places you can use them. That's what this expansion addresses.

The challenge

Custom fields could already be added to attorney and professional profiles, but the ways to populate and access that data across the platform were limited. Filling in custom fields for a large roster meant doing it profile by profile, and once the data was there, it wasn't surfacing in the places teams most often go to view, sort, and export member information.

What we launched

Custom fields are now integrated across several key areas of Flo Performance Management:

  • Member CSV import: Custom field values can now be included in bulk imports, so firms can populate or update custom fields for the whole roster at once rather than one profile at a time.
  • User List, Group members, and review cycle tables: Custom fields are now available as columns in these tables, so teams can see the data they care about alongside the standard profile information they're already working with.
  • Filters: Custom fields can now be used to filter these tables, making it straightforward to narrow a list by any custom attribute the firm has defined.

Exports: Custom field data is now included in exports from these tables, so the information is available for reporting and analysis outside the platform.

Why it matters

Custom fields exist because firms need to track information that's specific to how they're organized or how they evaluate their people. When that data can be imported in bulk, viewed in context, filtered on, and exported, it becomes genuinely useful for the team managing performance cycles rather than just a field sitting on a profile.

For firms that use custom fields to track practice group details, office assignments, seniority tiers, or other firm-specific attributes, this means that data is now a first-class part of how they interact with member and cycle information across the platform.

This is the kind of expansion that makes the rest of the platform more useful, and it came directly from what teams told us they needed to do with their data. Tell us what you'd like to see built next. The more specific you are, the better.
