Expanding Support for Government & Public Interest Recruiting

At Flo, we know that legal recruiting isn’t one-size-fits-all. While law firms have traditionally been a major focus of legal recruiting technology, government agencies and public interest organizations often have unique recruiting structures and needs.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce enhanced support for government and public interest employers, making it easier for organizations with multiple recruiting divisions to manage their opportunities and connect with law students.

The challenge

Government agencies and public interest organizations often recruit differently than traditional law firms.

Large organizations, such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), may have multiple divisions that recruit independently while sharing the same email domain. Each division may manage its own job opportunities, recruiting events, and interviews, with different teams responsible for hiring.

Previously, Flo’s employer account structure required organizations to have unique email domains, making it difficult to accommodate these independent recruiting divisions.

For Career Services teams, this created additional complexity when coordinating recruiting opportunities with government employers. For employers, it meant Flo couldn’t fully accommodate the way their recruiting teams were organized.

We wanted to make it easier for these organizations to participate in recruiting programs without changing how they operate.division-signin-croppedWhat we launched

Division-specific recruiting for government and public interest employers

Flo now supports multiple employer organizations under a shared email domain, allowing government agencies and public interest organizations to manage recruiting activities by division.

Here’s what’s new:

Multiple divisions, one email domain

Organizations like the DOJ can now have separate employer accounts for individual divisions, even when those divisions share the same email domain. This allows each division to operate independently within Flo while remaining connected through a shared organizational mapping.

Simplified division selection

When signing in or registering for an interview program, participating employer administrators can select the division they’re representing. This makes it easier for recruiters working within larger organizations to access the appropriate recruiting activities.

Division-specific jobs, events, and interviews

Each division has its own dedicated recruiting environment, with access limited to its respective jobs, events, and interviews. This helps keep recruiting activities organized and ensures employer teams are working with information relevant to their division.

Why it matters

These enhancements help Flo better support the diverse ways legal employers recruit, particularly those operating outside traditional law firm structures.

For Career Services teams: Greater flexibility to coordinate recruiting programs with government agencies and public interest organizations that have multiple hiring divisions.

For employers: A recruiting experience that better reflects how their organizations operate, allowing individual divisions to manage their own opportunities without requiring separate email domains.

For students: Better support for recruiting opportunities across a broader range of legal career paths, including government and public interest.

Ultimately, this update is about making Flo more accessible and adaptable to the organizations that recruit law students, regardless of how their recruiting teams are structured.

And we’re continuing to build on that foundation.

We’re excited to bring these enhancements to our school and employer partners as we work toward a more connected legal recruiting experience. Your feedback helps shape what we build next, so if there are other ways we can better support government and public interest recruiting, we’d love to hear from you.
