Flo Work Allocation Program Links Now Enforce Start and End Dates
At Flo, improving the platform is a continuous process, and this update to Flo Work Allocation reflects both planning ahead and listening closely to how firms manage their summer programs. It's a structural improvement that gives admins more reliable control over when participants can access the system.
The challenge
Firms running summer associate programs have clear boundaries around when work allocation activity should happen. We heard from our clients that having program links remain active outside those boundaries created a need for manual oversight: admins do not need to worry about access concerns outside of a program.
What we launched
Flo Work Allocation now uses the program start and end dates you've set to automatically control access to the relevant pages. Three links become inactive outside the program window:
- The attorney feedback link
- The summer associate program link
- The contributor program link

Each of these links is inactive before the program start date and again after the program end date. Access is enforced automatically based on the dates already in your program setup.
The project request form is handled separately. It remains available before the program starts so admins can send it to attorneys early and begin collecting project submissions in advance. It expires once the program ends.
Why it matters
Once a summer program wraps up, work allocation data should be locked down. This update means admins no longer have to monitor or manually manage access after the program ends; the system handles it based on the dates already configured. The project request form's extended availability before the start date also gives firms a practical head start on collecting project information before the program is formally underway.
This is the kind of update that matters most in October, when firms are starting to think about next summer. Getting these controls in place now means one less thing to manage manually when the program is in full swing.
We're glad to be getting these work allocation improvements in place well ahead of next summer. As you're thinking through your program setup for the coming year, share what else you'd like the system to handle automatically and we'll keep building toward that.
