AI Rewrite: Polish Your Feedback Without Starting Over

Another week, another update from Flo. This time it is for the attorneys and professionals writing performance reviews in Flo Performance Management: AI Rewrite is now available, giving reviewers a fast way to refine what they have already written without leaving the form.

The challenge

Writing specific, well-calibrated feedback takes genuine effort. A first draft often captures the right idea but lands with a tone or level of clarity that does not quite match the intent. Getting from a rough draft to a polished comment typically meant rereading and rewriting multiple times, entirely on your own.

What we launched

Reviewers writing text responses on an evaluation form will now see an AI icon next to each text field (when enabled by an admin). Clicking it opens the Rewrite panel, where reviewers can choose from three standard prompts or describe in their own words what kind of help they are looking for. Rewrite returns a suggested version of the text, which the reviewer can apply with Use Response or discard with Undo to restore the original.

A few mechanics worth knowing:

• Rewrite works only on text that has already been entered. The AI icon stays inactive on empty fields.
• Rewrite reworks and expands what the reviewer has written. It does not introduce new facts or claims that the reviewer has not provided.
• Undo restores the exact pre-rewrite text. Use Response is disabled once a suggestion has already been applied, so the same suggestion cannot be applied twice.

For admins, access to Rewrite is controlled by a role-level toggle in AI settings. Admins can choose to make it available to no one, to admins only, or to all users.

Why it matters

The goal of a performance review is to give attorneys and professionals feedback that is specific, fair, and genuinely useful to their development. When the writing does not quite land, that goal is harder to achieve, even if the underlying observation is accurate. Rewrite helps reviewers close that gap without asking them to start over or spend extra time wordsmithing alone.

Because Rewrite only works from what the reviewer has already written, the substance stays with the person who knows the work. The assistance is about expression, not invention, which keeps the feedback grounded and credible.
