FLSA Status Now Tracked Directly on Attorney Records
Compensation classification is not an afterthought in legal talent, and the data that supports it should be easy to find and maintain. Flo is the fastest company in the legal talent industry, and this update brings a small but meaningful piece of compliance information where Professional Development and HR teams actually need it: right on the attorney record.
The problem
Fair Labor Standards Act classification is a routine piece of employment data that firms need to track for every person in their organization. Exempt, Non-Exempt, or Not Applicable: the distinction matters for compensation, overtime eligibility, and a range of HR and compliance workflows.
The problem is that this information often lives somewhere other than the system you use to manage your people day to day. That means cross-referencing spreadsheets, checking a separate HR system, or relying on institutional knowledge to answer a straightforward question about how someone is classified. It is a small friction point, but it is one that Talent and HR teams run into regularly.
How it's solved
User records in Flo Performance Management now include an optional FLSA status field. Admins can view and edit this field directly on any person's record, with three clear options: Exempt, Non-Exempt, and Not Applicable.

The field is optional, so teams can roll it out at their own pace and populate it where it is relevant without any pressure to fill it in everywhere immediately. Admins with the right permissions can update it at any time as classifications change.
Why it matters
Having FLSA status in the same place where you manage performance, development, and employment records means one less system to consult when the information comes up in a conversation, a report, or a compliance review. For Talent and HR teams that already live in Flo Performance Management for day-to-day people management, this keeps more of the relevant context in one place.
